Optimus prime voice liam neeson3/11/2024 I dont like when people say bee and cheetor and hotrod etc are interchangeable, i agree there. I think this is better highlighted when smokescreen arrives. He strays once and a while, like the street racing incident and the tcog stuff, but its nothing unique compared to what the rest of team prime gets into. In fact its commonly established that hes well above his rank, even if he isn’t taking the promotion. In tfp, bee also sticks to primes orders. In aoe hes a bit more disruptive but i think considering the situation they were in, everyone has their limits. He kept a covert operation of protecting sam and finding the allspark for a long time, and he was solid backup for prime in rotf, in the 2v2 against megs and evacuating the humans. Ik esp in the bay movie he seems like a trashy teen, but overall he does a good job of following commands and getting shit done (when he starts kicking, its over). Maybe not in maturity, but hevery rarely disobeys optimus, and sticks to the job. I mean, if you distill all three characters down to the absolute basic "they are all younger than their peers," I suppose yes you could say they're stand-ins not just for each other, but for everyone who isn't Prime, Ironhide, Magnus, or Kup.Ĭlick to expand.id argue bee has been relatively consistent with that characterization, except for in maybe animated. (though IMO he better resembled characters like Sideswipe or Bluestreak at this stage) The closest he came to resembling Bumblebee was during season 2, where his ego and rebelliousness had slowly eroded away and we were left with a far more respectful, if still inexperienced, young warrior. I don't recall Bumblebee being nearly as disobedient and egotistical as young Cheetor was, and almost all of Cheetor's actions were determined by the facts early on. He's even more Hot Rod than Hot Rod was, only he had the benefit of an actual maturation arc. He was a child in a man's body expected to act like an adult, but all he wanted was to do things his own way.Ĭheetor needs no explanation. He also rather quickly was forced into the Rodimus role, where his inexperience turned into a sarcastic wit and deliberate contempt for doing things the slow and methodical way. Hot Rod, as short lived as he was, had an exuberance and energy that Bumblebee didn't, and lead to criticism from his peers for his cavalier attitude. Those two were not just young, but rebellious teens looking to prove themselves. Hot Rod, and to a much greater extent Cheetor, were practically the opposite. He was a very idealized depiction of a young character, rather than directly analogous to any of them. He got along well with Spike as a fellow youth, but was in no way defined by his inexperience or ego. He was plucky but always following Optimus' orders and heeding the wisdom of his seniors. G1 Bumblebee was not a rebellious, impetuous youth. Click to expand.I don't think you know what "literal" means, nor do you really understand those characters if you think they were stand-ins for Bumblebee.
